The pandemic is running rampant globally and locally and it is changing the way we live and function. It also means that, like many other small charities and organisations, we need to look at every way possible to keep our community work going and our community centre ticking over until we can safely reopen and resume business as usual bringing people together and serving community needs.
We cannot open our doors to welcome you to our charity shop and cafe, or our classes and groups at the moment, but you can still support us by donating to help keep the centre and our community support and development work going.

PayPal is making it easy for you to think of us. Set us as your favourite charity, and every time you make an online purchase with PayPal, you’ll have the opportunity to donate £1 to benefit our cause. It’s an easy and convenient way to have a big impact.

Visit our profile page on the PayPal Fundraising Site to set us as your favourite charity.

Stay safe and we hope to see you all soon! In the meantime do keep checking our website, Twitter and Instagram for the latest lockdown activity updates.

Apple Tree Marketplace

Unfortunately due to the new lockdown measures the marketplace will be postponed until further notice. We have really enjoyed working on the market and we have been able to interact with so many new faces over the last few months.

We hope to have one final hurrah this year in December, however we will await further government guidance to determine whether this will be safe to do so.

Thanks again for all your support and trusting us to manage a Covid secure environment.

Stay Safe!

Become a Goldsmiths Community Association Trustee

Picture

Goldsmiths Community Association is seeking new members to join our Trustee board. After surviving a very difficult period in which, this essential community facility was under threat of permanent closure, we now need active committed volunteers to join our committee and help us secure a stable and thriving future serving the community of North Downham and surrounding areas.

We would love to hear from you if:
  • you have skills in business planning, marketing, programming, finance or buildings management
  • knowledge of the Lewisham/ Catford/ Downham and interest in developing a local organisation in the area
  • have time to attend monthly meetings and be actively involved in strategic practical and financial planning
We welcome all interested candidates to have an informal conversation with the Chair. If interested, please contact trustees@goldsmithscommunitycentre.org.uk to begin a conversation.

Give A Song

Picture

'Give a Song' is a project by Goldsmiths Community Association. Local musicians are using the power of music to bring a moment of joy to those shielding or simply struggling at home due to Covid-19. Residents can watch or sing along from their doorstep or window as a few of their favourite songs are played live outside. There is no charge to the people receiving a song. If you know somebody you think would appreciate a visit, you can nominate them via our online form.  So far the musicians have done 50 performances!

Nominate somebody to receive a song
There is absolutely no requirement to contribute to the project costs but some people have already asked to do so. You can donate via our fundraising page and will contribute to our lovely volunteer musicians' expenses and also to Goldsmiths Community Centre so that projects like this can continue.
