In this privacy policy references to “we”, “us” “GCA”, “Goldsmiths” and “our” refer to Goldsmiths Community Association, c/o Goldsmiths Community Centre, Castillon Road, London SE6 1UR. References to “our website” or “the website” are to http://www.goldsmithscommunitycentre.org.uk.
What information we collect and how
For venue bookings we ask for information about you, including your name, address, contact details and whether you are over 18.
When you attend a community event run by GCA, we give you the option of signing up to the Goldsmiths Community Centre mailing list as well as the Whitefoot Community News mailing list. For these mailing lists we collect your name and email address. These mailing lists are managed using Mailchimp and you have the option to unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link on every email that we send. Your email subscription preferences and the history of communications we have sent you are also stored using Mailchimp.
We sometimes take additional information on you when required by funders, for the purpose of ensuring that the community work we do reaches those most in need. This information may include your name, contact details, date of birth and whether or not you are resident of a local housing association.
What we do with your information
Any personal information we collect from you will be used in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) May 2018
While we may use third party services to carry out GCA business administration activities, such as the processing and sorting of data, website analytics and broadcasting emails, we will never allow your data to be shared with another company or organisation for their use.
GCA is certified by the Information Commissioner’s Office and registration is renewed annually.
The details we collect will be used:
- To secure venue hire and communicate with you about your booking.
- To keep a record of your attendance at community events.
- To communicate by email with you. These email communications include information about activities, community events and volunteering opportunities at the community centre and in the local area.
Your Rights
When you are sent an email you have the option to unsubscribe from any mailing lists that you are on and once unsubscribed you will not be contacted again. If you have any trouble unsubscribing contact us at [email protected] and ask for your preferences to be updated.
You have the right to request a copy of any information that we hold about you within one month. If you would like to access this information please contact us.
